Product Description
Ozempic (semaglutide) is a prescription GLP-1 receptor agonist indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as an adjunct to diet and exercise. It helps lower blood sugar levels and can also support weight management in appropriate patients. Semaglutide works by enhancing insulin secretion, slowing gastric emptying, and reducing appetite.Composition & Format

Dosage & Administration

Typical dosing schedule (for type 2 diabetes, per prescribing information):
Start: 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks (for initiation, not for glycemic control)
Increase to 0.5 mg once weekly
Dose may be increased to 1 mg once weekly, and in some cases up to 2 mg once weekly, as directed by a healthcare provider
Storage
Refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F)
Do not freeze. Protect from direct heat and light. Keep cap on when not in use.
Notes
Ozempic is intended for patients with type 2 diabetes; it is not approved for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Should be prescribed and monitored by a healthcare provider.
Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain.
Serious risks may include pancreatitis, thyroid C-cell tumors, and gallbladder issues—patients should be screened and monitored accordingly.
